Rush Hour Blog Hop

I'm new to blogging but my friend, Carol, is encouraging me to start my own blog, so here it is.  It is definitely a work in progress.  I have a longarm quilting service that is called, Coral Canyon Quilting. I'm sure that's no shock to you, since that's the name of the blog.  I live in the red rock area of Southern Utah.  It is truly God's Country!!  I moved here from Florida about 6 years back and immediately fell in love with this St. George area!

I love to quilt and especially love quilting other people's quilts.  It's so fun to see what others design and sew.  If you look at my Gallery, you'll see some of the recent quilts I've done for my family.  I'll start posting pictures on my customers quilts as soon as I get their permission to do so.

This is my first time to participate in a bog hop, too. I want to thank Carol and Madm Samm for making all of this happen. The quilt below just happened to be in the same colors as the blog hop colors, but actually made me slow down instead of rushing around like Rush Hour.

A few months ago, my mother passed away and I decided to make a quilt in memory of her.  See the pictures below.  The black and white in the quilt represent the ups and downs, good and bad that occurs in our lives.  If you notice the colors get darker as you move towards the bottom of the quilt.  In Mom's later life she had a lot of physical pains and ended up with dementia.  Finally, the red pinwheel represents her passing on to a happier place. The quilting of concentric circles represent the "circle of life".  It made me happy to do this quilt and spend the time reminiscing about my Mom.  I hope you enjoy looking at it.
